Finance Your Smile

It is our mission to provide you with affordable, high-quality treatment that fits your budget! Orthodontic treatment is an investment toward a lifetime of improved oral health, improved appearance, comfort and enhanced personal confidence. We are pleased to offer you several financial options to help achieve a healthy, beautiful smile.

Cost of Treatment

The cost of your orthodontic treatment is based upon your personalized treatment plan. At your complimentary initial consultation, a comprehensive orthodontic exam will be conducted by Dr. Phillips to determine your orthodontic needs. After the exam, he will discuss different treatment options. Our Treatment Coordinator will then give you a breakdown of the treatment fee and discuss insurance and financing options with you. We will be happy to answer any questions you might have regarding your proposed treatment and fees.

Treatment fees generally include the following:

  • Diagnostic records (x-rays, study models, etc.)
  • Braces and/or appliances
  • First retainer
  • Treatment visits
  • Braces removal visit
  • Retainer check visits for 18 months after removal

If you are interested in treatment with Invisalign, there is a comprehensive fee for Invisalign that covers impressions, Invisalign trays and a retainer. Our family care plan offers a $200 courtesy fee reduction for additional family members who start treatment.

Payment Options

To help make your treatment more affordable, we offer three payment options for you to select from. You have the choice to pay for treatment in full, set up a payment plan with down payment and no interest through our office, or finance through a third party such as CareCredit with no down payment and no interest.

We offer a 5% discount for payment in full by cash or check at the start of treatment. If you wish to pay by debit or credit card at the start of treatment, the discount is 3%.  This discount does not apply to third party financing.

Office Payment Plan

Our in-office payment plan option is interest free. We break down the cost of treatment into a down payment and monthly payments to spread the cost of treatment over a period of time. With this option, all monthly payments will be automatically drafted from your bank account or MasterCard, Visa or Discover card.

Financing through CareCredit

We accept CareCredit. CareCredit is a personal line of credit for qualifying healthcare expenses that can make your orthodontic treatments more affordable! Applying for CareCredit is simple, and no down payment is required. Through CareCredit, you can choose from various financing options and terms – from 24-month no interest up to 60 months with a finance charge. This financing is available for the full treatment fee only and cannot be used to finance only the down payment. Please note that our payment in full discount cannot be applied to CareCredit financing. To apply, simply go to the CareCredit website and fill out the online application.

Our Financial Coordinator will take care of setting up your contract, billing your insurance company, providing receipts for flexible spending accounts, and answering any questions regarding the financial aspects of your care.

Orthodontic Insurance

If your insurance covers orthodontic treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal costs. Orthodontic insurance policies have a lifetime benefit that is distinct from regular dental insurance. A lifetime orthodontic benefit for orthodontics is paid as a percentage of the fee over the length of treatment until the lifetime maximum has been reached. Insurance policies vary, so we will review your insurance to determine your coverage before treatment. Once treatment has started, we will file your claims. We are providers for Cigna, Aetna and MetLife.

We do accept insurance benefits on your behalf, which in turn will help lower your payments each month.

Please remember that orthodontic insurance is a benefit for you or your child. If, during the course of treatment, your benefits change, the financially responsible party is accountable for all charges.

Health Savings or Flexible Spending Accounts

Health savings or flexible spending accounts are types of plans offered by employers that allow you to set aside pre-tax money to be used toward dental or medical expenses. If you are interested in using your HSA or FSA toward orthodontic treatment, we can help calculate your orthodontic expenses for a plan year, and provide you with receipts for submission to your plan provider.
