Finance Your Smile
Orthodontic treatment is a valuable investment in the overall dental, medical and psychological well being of children and adults. Our goal is to provide convenient and affordable payment options to help you fit the cost of achieving your great new smile into your budget.
Cost of Treatment
Fees for orthodontic treatment may vary and are based upon your customized treatment plan. There will be no charge for your initial consultation, where Dr. Phillips will perform a comprehensive orthodontic exam and discuss all available treatment options. At this complimentary visit our Treatment Coordinator will provide you with a treatment fee, discuss your financial and insurance options in detail, and answer any questions that are unique to your situation.
The investment for treatment is usually a single fee that includes the cost of diagnostic records (orthodontic x-rays, study models and diagnostic photographs), braces and appliances, and the first set of retainers. It also includes all of a patients active treatment visits with us, including removal of braces and retainer checks for 18 months after removal. The investment for treatment with Invisalign is a comprehensive fee as well, covering impressions, Invisalign trays and retention. Our family care plan offers a $200 courtesy fee reduction for additional family members who start treatment.
You may select one of our 3 popular payment options, which include payment in full, our office payment plan with down payment and no interest, or no down payment, no interest* with an orthodontic financing company.
Payment in Full
An administrative fee reduction of 5% is offered when a fee is paid in full by check or cash at the start of treatment, and 3% if paid in full by debit/credit card at the start of treatment. The fee reduction does not apply to payment made by third party financing, such as CareCredit.
Office Payment Plan
Dr. Phillips is happy to provide this payment option interest free. The fee is broken down into a down payment and monthly payments to conveniently budget the cost of treatment over time. With this interest free option all monthly payments will be automatically drafted from your bank account or MasterCard, Visa or Discover card.
Third Party Financing
Our office accepts CareCredit, one of the nations leading patient financing programs. The online application for CareCredit is simple, and this payment option requires no initial down payment. CareCredit offers a variety of payment plans including a 24-month no interest plan, and up to 60 months financing options, which include a finance charge. This payment option is available only for the full treatment fee, and may not be used to finance the down payment alone. No payment in full discount is available with the CareCredit payment option. Our Financial Coordinator will take care of setting up your contract, billing your insurance company, providing receipts for flexible spending accounts, and answering any questions regarding the financial aspects of your care.
There are many different agreements between insurance carriers and their subscribers, and each contract provides a different benefit level. All orthodontic insurance has a lifetime maximum benefit, which is paid as a percentage of the fee over the length of treatment until the lifetime maximum has been reached. This means that your insurance must remain in place for the duration of treatment to receive the entire orthodontic benefit. We will contact your insurance company to determine your orthodontic coverage before starting treatment, and will be happy to do all paperwork necessary to file your insurance. We accept assignment of insurance benefits, if allowed by your plan, which helps to lower your down payment and monthly payments. Please remember that you are ultimately responsible for all charges incurred in our office, and any unpaid insurance will be added to your personal account balance. We are now providers for Cigna, Aetna, and Metlife!
Flexible Spending or Health Savings Accounts
Many employers provide a reimbursement plan that enables you to have money set aside before taxes to be used for medical or dental expenses. While we cannot interpret your plan or guide you in its use, we are happy to help calculate your orthodontic expenses for a plan year, and to provide you with substantiation receipts for submission to your plan provider. Some plans utilize a benefits card, similar to a credit card, which can be used to pay for all or part of your orthodontic treatment fee.
